Jeronimo Miranda received his PhD in Materials Science from the University of Toulouse, France, in 2025. His research focuses on the electrochemical characterization of energy storage materials and the investigation of charging mechanisms using benchtop operando electrochemical techniques. He is specialized in the use of the Electrochemical Quartz Crystal Microbalance (EQCM), electrochemical dilatometry, and in-plane resistance measurements.

Abstract

Electrochemical Operando Analyses

The tutorial lecture entitled “Electrochemical Operando Analyses” will present a series of illustrative examples demonstrating the application of advanced benchtop operando electrochemical techniques, including the electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM), electrochemical dilatometry, and in-plane resistance measurements. These techniques will be highlighted as valuable tools for elucidating the fundamental mechanisms governing charge storage and charge transfer processes. Representative case studies will span a wide range of materials, from activated carbons to battery electrode materials, including Na3V2(PO4)2F3 (NVPF), TiS2, and MXenes.
